Buckingham Awarded University of Notre Dame RFP

In June 2022, Buckingham Companies submitted a response for an RFP by the University of Notre Dame for the redevelopment of university-owned land north of campus. The proposed mixed-use development is comprised of retail and a mixture of multifamily and townhome units. Buckingham was awarded the project and partnership with the university in August.

This will be Buckingham’s second development in the South Bend region. The first is still owned and operated by Buckingham, The Foundry at Eddy Street Commons. The Foundry was a partnership project with our friends at Kite Reality who own and manage the first-floor retail component of the project. The two-phased, multi-family residential component comprises over 750 apartment homes, mostly occupied by university students and includes a swimming pool and pool deck, club quality fitness center, ample study and work spaces, and of course a great location across from the University of Notre Dame.

Buckingham has a great relationship with Notre Dame, and we are eager to continue that partnership with this new development.
