After a short four-month hiatus, Caviar & Bananas reopened in Midtown with new owners and a different management team.
The Charleston-based market and cafe at 2031 Broadway in the Aertson Midtown building closed June 29 after just one year. The owners cited sluggish sales as a reason for the closure.
The 6,100-square-foot space was part restaurant and part retail with an espresso/tea/wine bar, bakery, prepared and packaged foods, made-to-order salads and sandwiches, wine and craft beer, cheeses, gourmet gift baskets and a curated selection of groceries for the urban shopper.
According to social media posts, the market and cafe reopened today at 6 a.m. after hiring new employees throughout October. Posts on Facebook over the last several weeks documented the impending opening and teased Nashville diners with pictures of sandwiches and champagne, holiday catering information and a video of employees training in the space.
The new owners couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Caviar & Bananas will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Buckingham Companies @BuckinghamCoWe are proud that Buckingham employees were able to find creative and safe ways to volunteer in 2020. From supporting friends & neighbors to senior citizens & law enforcement officers, our random acts of kindness during a very challenging year went near and far. #BuckinghamCares pic.twitter.com/GEEjZFHN5j
