Buckingham Companies is proud to announce an employee tuition discount with the online, non-profit Western Governors University (WGU). All Buckingham employees are eligible for a five percent tuition discount for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in business or information technology from WGU.

“Team member development is a key piece of being an employee focused company, and we strive to provide continuing education with Buckingham University’s online and in-person training classes,” comments Scott Sladek, chief operating officer of Buckingham Companies. “Adding the tuition discount for employees through WGU means we can continue adding educational options for our team members to utilize, grow and reach their full potential.”

Employees who enroll in the business or information technology degree programs will receive a five percent discount toward the tuition of a little over $6,000 per 12-month term. Buckingham provides a $1,500 annual reimbursement for approved degree programs as tuition assistance. The partnership with WGU is perfectly aligned with Buckingham’s goal to attract, develop, and retain top talent. In recent months, Buckingham has expanded their involvement with the Residential Property Management Program at Ball State University, developed an apprenticeship program with local area high schools, and broadened their internal leadership development training. Buckingham also now employs a full-time professional recruiter, who’s primarily focused on placing current and new employees in roles that best fit their career aspirations and skill sets.

“We are pleased to be Buckingham Companies’ educational partner,” said WGU Indiana Chancellor Allison Barber. “WGU Indiana’s online college degree programs are designed for busy, working adults like Buckingham’s employees. Everyone benefits when companies like Buckingham invest in their workforce by making higher education affordable and accessible. WGU Indiana’s already low tuition and competency-based model makes it a great fit for both employers and employees.”
