As part of Buckingham’s sustainability efforts, our sustainability team is visiting multiple cities that Buckingham has a presence in to promote sustainability within each community through volunteer efforts. This summer, our Louisville teams came together to volunteer with the Louisville Parks Department.
Buckingham focused its efforts on Wyandotte Park, which was named after the Wyandotte tribe and opened in 1935 in western Oakdale – just south of historic Churchill Downs. Over the course of two hours, the teams gathered 12 bags of litter, cleaned the park shelter, and painted 10 picnic tables and benches. Our team completed in a partial afternoon what would have taken the Parks Department representative over two months to complete!
Our Buckingham team consisted of Buckingham Foundation, sustainability director, customer service vice president, and our site teams from Champion Farms, Canter Chase, Woodbridge, and 310 NULU.
