Durham Construction Sustainability

Our new development in North Carolina, Plat 4 at The Triangle, is working towards recycling construction waste. Since May 2022, recycled construction waste diverted from the landfill has been tracked and recorded, including: 

• Drywall
• Cardboard
• Shingles
• Plastic
• Wood

To date, 44 tons of construction waste has been recycled - representing 82% of all waste generated on-site. Recycling efforts also contribute to the pursuit of National Green Building Standard (NGBS) certification for this development.

Since 2021, Buckingham has made a commitment to a sustainability effort with all business handles. Our environmental goals are part of the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy and plan and include ensuring our organization establishes sustainability as a key competency, reducing our operating expenses while increasing asset value, and providing clear guidance for implementation and evaluation.
