If you're looking for some exciting new dining options in downtown Indianapolis, look no further than the latest additions to CityWay. Buckingham, the developer behind the popular mixed-use development, has recently welcomed two new creative restaurant concepts to the area: Agave & Rye and Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar.
Agave & Rye, located at 336 S Delaware St, is a popular restaurant chain that has quickly grown to 14 locations in five states. Their menu features tacos with unique and delicious ingredients, such buttered & garlic lobster. But that's not all - they also offer an impressive selection of over 70 bourbons and 70 tequilas, inspiring a wide variety of creative drinks.
"It's very difficult to achieve what Indianapolis has in the downtown area," said Yavonne Sarber, who recently opened Agave & Rye downtown. "I've visited a lot of cities and a lot of places and I've run a lot of restaurants. Downtown markets can be extremely difficult. Cities have put a lot of effort into doing exactly what Indianapolis has done. And that is a vibrant, beautiful city that attracts so many different avenues: the sports arenas, events, concerts, and different events. The culture feels good. It feels safe. It feels fun, it feels energetic, and that's not an easy thing to accomplish. And Indianapolis has done that."Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar, located at 320 S Alabama St, is set to open this spring. Based out of North Carolina, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is famous for its scratch-made dishes and southern hospitality. Their menu features traditional southern cuisine, including favorites like fried chicken and biscuits, shrimp and grits, and banana pudding. And if you're a dog lover, you'll be happy to know that Tupelo Honey is pet-friendly and even has a special dog menu to order off of.
Both restaurants offer their own unique atmosphere, with Agave & Rye's industrial-chic decor and Tupelo Honey's warm, welcoming southern charm. And with a combined indoor and outdoor space of over 6,700 square feet, there's plenty of room for diners to enjoy their meals in comfort and style.
"We are thrilled to bring more variety to an already thriving area to live in downtown Indianapolis," says a spokesperson for Buckingham. "Both Agave & Rye and Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar offer something truly special, and we're excited to see them become a part of the CityWay community."
