Buckingham Companies Named in Best Places to Work in Indiana for 2020
Buckingham has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group. Celebrating 36 years, Buckingham positively impacts the communities it invests in through the dedication, passion and creativity of our team members.
To be considered for participation in Best Places to Work, eligible companies must:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity
- Be a publicly or privately held business
- Have a facility in Indiana
- Have at least 15 full-time employees working in Indiana
- Be in business a minimum of one year
Survey results show Buckingham balances a challenging and inspiring work environment with a focus on personal success and work-life fit. In CEO Brad Chambers' words, “Buckingham does not shy away from a challenge, in fact, we seek them out. That’s because I know our people can truly accomplish anything.” An entrepreneurial spirit and emphasis on creativity has created a culture of personal growth, empowered decision making and being part of something bigger than the day-to-day.
Giving back to the community is at the heart of the company. Buckingham Foundation annually supports more than 50 nonprofit and civic organizations through philanthropic outreach in the areas of affordable housing, community and economic development and arts and culture. Buckingham employees volunteer over 8,000 hours each year, including a company-wide day of service that includes closing all offices for one day each year, volunteering over 2,000 hours across nine states.
Buckingham Companies competed in the category for large companies with between 250 and 999 U.S. employees and partook in a two-part survey process. The first aspect (25% of score) consisted of evaluating a company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part (75% of score) included an employee survey to measure the employee experience.
